Conference basketball tournament tips off Monday

The Greater Nebraska Activities Conference Basketball Tournament will begin Monday, Feb. 3.

Girls' games will take place Monday at Elkhorn Valley and West Holt.

In Tilden, the top-seeded Lady Falcons will meet Plainview at 6 p.m. Summerland, entering as the five seed, will meet Laurel-Concord-Coleridge at 7:30.

West Holt will face Lutheran High Northeast at 6 in Atkinson. Hartington-Newcastle and Neligh-Oakdale will meet in the nightcap.

The second round of the girls' bracket will be played at the site of the highest seeded winner. Game will begin at 6, while the bottom side of the bracket will meet at 7:30.

Consolation bracket games, in the girls division, will be played on Thursday. The highest seed loser will meet the second highest seed loser at 6 p.m. The third and fourth highest seed losers will meet at 7:30.

The Summerland boys enter as the No. 1 seed and will face Neligh-Oakdale at 6 p.m. on the Bobcats home court. Plainview and LHNE will meet at 7:30.

The other side of the bracket will play at West Holt. The second-seeded Huskies will meet LCC at 6 p.m., while EV and Hartington-Newcastle will face each other at 7:30.

Second-round contests will be played Friday, Feb. 7, at 6 p.m. at the higher seed site. The top bracket, which includes the Bobcats, will play at 6. The bottom side will play at 7:30.

Consolation bracket games, in the boys division, will be played on Friday. The highest seed loser will meet the second highest seed loser at 6 p.m. The third and fourth highest seed losers will meet at 7:30.

Championship games are set for Saturday, Feb. 8, at 6 p.m., at Hartington-Newcastle.
