All six school board members took the oath of office Wednesday, Jan. 15.
Nate Schwager, Scott Thiele, Austin Twibell, Jeremy Wagner, along with newcomers Chelsi McLain and Ryan Ahlers, recited the pledge of office.
Officers for the board were also elected during the 50-minute meeting. Superintendent Molly Aschoff conducted the election.
Nate Schwager will serve as president for the upcoming year and Jeremy Wagner was elected as vice president. Austin Twibell was chosen to fill the secretary role and Scott Thiele was tabbed as treasurer.
Following the election, Aschoff handed the symbolic gavel to Schwager, who presided over the remainder of the meeting.
Committee assignments were set for 2025. Wagner, Thiele and McLain will serve on the Americanism Committee. Overseeing the Finance and Negotiations Committee will be Twibell, Schwager and McLain.
Handling Building, Grounds and Transportation Committee duties will be Thiele, Wagner and Ahlers, while Schwager, Wagner and Twibell will work on the Goals/Strategic Planning Committee.
Board members also approved designations for 2025, including Sally Finch, recording secretary; Summerland Advocate-Messenger, Antelope County News and Norfolk Daily News, legal newspapers; and Cornerstone Bank in Clearwater and Orchard, Chambers State Bank in Ewing and the Nebraska Liquid Assets Fund as depositories.
