Clearwater native hired to fill SPS math position

Andrew Steskal, a 2018 graduate of Clearwater-Orchard Public Schools, will fill a math vacancy at Summerland Public Schools for the 2025-2026 school year.

Steskal spent two years at Northeast Community College and received a degree in mathematics education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Currently, he fills a similar position at Cross County High School. This is his third year in the district, located south of Stromsburg.

Superintendent Molly Aschoff said, "We're very fortunate. He came highly recommended and he'll do great things for us."

Steskal is excited to return to his roots.

"Returning home to teach has always been my goal since graduating with my teaching degree. This area holds great people and values that make it an ideal place to live. I am fortunate that the communities that comprise the Summerland School District have shaped me into the person I am today by giving me opportunities to grow and learn. I look forward to being able to help educate the next generation to prepare them for jobs in the community," Steskal said.
