Lady Bobcats dominate Plainview in conference matchup

The Summerland Lady Bobcats cruised to a decisive 37-16 victory over the Plainview Pirates in a Jan. 7 contest on the Pirate's home court.

Summerland jumped out early, scoring eight points in the first quarter while holding Plainview to just four. Consistent offensive efforts by the Bobcats led to quarter scores of 8, 12, 9, and 8, while their defense kept Plainview at bay, limiting them to single digits in the final three quarters.

Junior Jenna Funk led the charge for the Lady Bobcats, putting up 12 points and grabbing nine rebounds, narrowly missing a double-double. Caydence Schumacher added eight points and pulled down nine boards, contributing to a balanced team effort.

Head Coach Jackson Medina praised his team's performance, saying, "Every game we come in and compete hard. We started the week off well, coming out with a win over Plainview. We had a very well-rounded game against them, with Jenna Funk having over ten points and almost ten rebounds. It was a group effort on both sides of the ball. We really limited them on the scoreboard."
