Holt County officials reorganized for 2025, during a Jan. 9 meeting.
Judge Kale Burdick swore in newly-elected supervisors Don Linquist Jr., Dustin Breiner and Darrin Paxton.
Under the direction of county clerk Cathy Pavel, supervisors entertained nominations for chairman. Bill Tielke was nominated and re-elected as chairman. Doug Frahm was selected to chair the county board of equalization.
After delegating committee assignments, supervisors reappointed Gary Connot as road superintendent and set his salary at $85,000, which includes a $9.750 stipend received from the state for Connot's Class A bridge inspection license.
Marv Fritz was reappointed as planning and zoning administrator. Supervisors set his salary at $9,500 annually.
Ken Stenka was appointed as veterans service officer, with an annual salary of $54,700.
The emergency manager, Deb Hilker, will receive $30,400.00.
Supervisors also set increases for road and bridge personnel.
After lengthy discussion, supervisors voted to increase hour road department employees' wages $1 per hour. Additionally, employees will continue to receive $.05 for every consecutive year after one full year of service.
Distributor and chip spreader operates will receive $1 per hour above the $1 hourly road department increase.
Salary for the truck foreman will increase to $67,000 and the lead foreman will receive $79,500.
Supervisors also approved Resolution 2025-01, designating depositories of public monies for the county. Great Plains State Bank, Pinnacle Bank, Bank First, Chambers State Bank, Tri-County Bank, Nebraska Bank, First Interstate Bank and Nebraska Public Agency Invest Trust were approved.
Supervisors will meet in regular session, Thursday, Jan. 16, at 9:45 a.m.
The Board of Equalization will meet at 9:30 a.m.
