AMH receives four awards for excellence

This month, Antelope Memorial Hospital received national and state awards for excellence. The hospital was first recognized for the 2024 Performance Leadership Award for excellence in Quality, Outcomes and Patient Perspective as part of the National Rural Health Day celebration. Compiled by The Chartis Center for Rural Health, the Performance Leadership Award honors top quartile performance (75th percentile or above) among rural hospitals across the United States in the categories of quality, outcome and patient perspective,

Antelope Memorial Hospital was also recognized by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services as a 2024 Rural Provider Excellence in Quality Award recipient. This award honors the Top 10 overall performance in quality among Nebraska's 63 critical access hospitals. It also utilizes the framework of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX™ to analyze measures of the Medicare Beneficiary Quality Improvement Project for each of the 63 CAHs in Nebraska. The analysis percentile ranks performance for each facility across nearly two dozen metrics and those facilities with the 10 highest scores are recognized with the Rural Provider Excellence in Quality Award.

The Chartis Rural Hospital performance INDEX™ is the industry's most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance. Its INDEX data is trusted and relied upon by rural hospitals, health systems with rural footprints, hospital associations and state offices of rural health across the country to measure and monitor performance across several areas impacting hospital operations and finance.

"We are thrilled to receive the Performance Leadership Award in all three categories, as well as the Rural Provider Excellence in Quality Award," said Diane Brugger, CEO of Antelope Memorial Hospital. "These prestigious awards truly reflect our commitment to health-care excellence in alignment with our mission 'to make a difference in people's lives through excellent patient care'."

"This amazing accomplishment was only made possible through the efforts of each AMH employee and provider doing their part and working together in the best interest of our patients," added Brugger. "Each is committed to providing the highest quality of care possible to our patients with compassion, empathy and professional expertise. Plus, AMH's success reflects the leadership excellence of our board of trustees and everything they've done to help retain and support AMH's administration, providers and employees. It's very rewarding to be a part of the AMH team."
