Bobcats handle EV in playoffs

Summerland defeated Elkhorn Valley, 45-8, in the opening round of the Class D1 state football playoffs.

The teams met Oct. 24, in a game played at Summerland.

Michael Koenig led the team with seven completions on 11 attempts for 93 yards. He also carried the ball six times for 66 yards.

Mathias Wagner led the team, carrying the ball 13 times for 112 yards.

Alec Schindler and Keaton Thiele led the Bobcats defensively, finishing with eight and seven tackles, respectively.

Logan Kester, AJ Hobbs and Thiele each recorded sacks for losses.
