That describes the Summerland high school cross country teams' results from the first-ever Greater Nebraska Athletic Conference meet, held Oct 10 at the Plainview Country Club.
Senior Lenora Kester was seconds away from a medal. She finished 17th, running 24:35.45.
Carlee Livingston was two spots behind Kester. She placed 19th, running 25:17.32.
Aubrey Parker ended 27th in the field of 34 runners. She cross the line in 27:52.62.
West Holt claimed the team title with 21 points, edging out runner-up Laurel-Concord-Coleridge. The Bears ended with 23 points.
In the boys' division, 34 runners raced for gold. Zander Cepel was the first Bobcat to break the barrier. He finished 19th, running 21:47.21.
Luke Kester placed 22nd, running 22.16.09.
Jorden Cox placed 22rd. He ran 29.36.24.
The teams travel to Ainsworth, Thursday, Oct. 17, for the Nebraska School Activities Association D-3 District Meet.
The girls' race is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., with the boys' race to follow.
Other teams competing in the district include Ainsworth, Boyd County, Burwell, CWC, Central Valley, Creighton, Elgin Public/Pope John, Newman Grove/St. Edward, Neligh-Oakdale, Niobrara/Verdigre, North Central, Plainview, Riverside, Sandhills/Thedford, Santee, Stuart, Twin Loup and West Holt.
