Summerland's varsity volleyball team finished 2-1 in tournament play, Sept. 28, en route to the runner-up trophy at the Wayne Invite.
In the first match, the Bobcats defeated Archangels Catholic, 25-21 and 25-17. Lydia Robertson nailed nine kills in the match. Ella Bolling added six. Belle Anson and Kenzie Sanne finished with two ace serves apiece and Anson led the defensive scheme, picking up eight digs.
The win set up a match against Madison, with the Bobcats earning a sweep, 25-16 and 25-19. Robertson again led the attack game with seven kills. Bailey Ahlers smashed five. Bolling sent four aces over the net and Kanyon Allemang and Kaylee Thiele each added two. Robertson picked up two stuffs at the net.
In the championship match, Wisner-Pilger silenced Summerland. The Gators won in two, 25-22 and 25-14. Robertson finished with six kills, while Bolling, Allemang and Caydence Schumacher each nailed three. Sarah Wiese and Bolling each landed an ace serve. Ahlers finished with 14 digs.
