Stanton edges past Bobcats

During Friday's match up in Stanton, the Bobcats came up short against the top-ranked team, falling to the Mustangs, 44-34.

Michael Koenig was .500 in the passing game, competing 11 throws for 186 yards.

Koenig led the rushing attack, gaining 120 yards on 12 carries. He scored three touchdowns.

Alec Schindler caught eight passes for 110 yards and Cheatum grabbed three for 76 yards.

Both found success in the end zone. Keaton Thiele led the Bobcats defensively, record 19 tackles, including seven solo take downs. Schindler finished with 16; Cheatum, 14; and Ethan Kester, 11.

Summerland travels to Plainview, Sept. 27. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
