Ribfest, vendor fair return to Orchard

A full day of fun is slated Saturday, Sept. 28, as the Orchard Community Club hosts its annual ribfest and vendor fair.

More than 40 vendors will be set up in the Orchard Community Center, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., offering jewelry, crafts, pottery, kids' items, tumblers, hats, baked goods, coffee, popcorn and other items.

To enter, contact Tyson Schutt at 402-394-5621 or via email at [email protected]. Entry fee is $50, which must be paid in full before receiving ribs by 8 a.m. the day of the event. All ribs must be prepared and cooked on site.

Contestants will need to supply a grill, utensils and other cooking items. All grills must be in the designated cooking area by 11 a.m. A rules meeting will be held at 11 a.m. Rib judging will occur at 5:10 p.m.

Cash prizes will be handed out to the top three finishers. The first-place prize is $500. Second place will receive $300 and third place, $150.

An appetizer contest will begin at 4 p.m., with voting by the public. A $10 entry fee is required and 100% will be paid to entrants.

The Den will be on site serving alcohol.
