Ewing woman files appeal

A Ewing woman, who was recently convicted and sentenced in July to a three-year term of probation for a Class 3A felony count of making terroristic threats on Oct. 8, 2023, has filed an appeal with the Nebraska Court of Appeals.

Jessica J. Snyder, 42, filed the appeal with the Nebraska Court of Appeals on July 15.

Holt County public defender Rod Smith was granted a motion to withdraw as her attorney and Brad Ewalt of Norfolk was appointed by the Honorable Mark Kozisec to replace him for the appeal process.

Smith, in a motion to withdraw, said Snyder intended to raise an issue of ineffective counsel and he anticipated being called as an “adverse witness.”
