Reliable, Trustworthy Reporting, Capturing The Heartbeat Of Our Community
Holt County Supervisors will meet with a representive from RTI, an IT firm based in Sioux City, when they meet in regular session, Friday, Aug. 30. The presentation is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
At the Aug. 16 supervisors’ meeting, supervisor Josh Treptow reported three quotes have been received. The county has previously worked with two of the companies.
Treptow said a subcommittee met to discuss options.
“Let’s have a one-stop shop that takes care of the network, do managed services and handles phones,” Treptow suggested.
Supervisor Doug Frahm said he would like to have the system be all-inclusive.
“Have one outfit take care of us,” he said. “Too many people are in and out of here.”
Frahm said quotes need “to compare apples to apples, instead of apples to potatoes.”
Treptow said items in the quotes are “close” and suggested meeting with RTI.
“We need to get it started,” Frahm said.
On Friday, supervisors will:
• Set a public hearing date to review and consider a conditional use permit requested by VRDG, LLC, for a commercial solar conversion system.
• Review annual inventories from each county office.
• Hold a public hearing, at 1:15 p.m., on the budget.
During the board of equalization meeting, scheduled to start at 9 a.m. on Friday, the board will approve a resolution for levy authority to determine the amount to be allocated to townships, fire departments and the county ag society.
