Newspaper, school closed on Labor Day

Labor Day is nearly upon us. While banks will be closed and mail service will be halted for the day, some businesses will be open.

Clearwater Market manager Jamie Hart said the store will be open 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1 and Monday, Sept. 2.

"Beginning Sunday, the store will be open every Sunday during those hours," she said.

The Advocate-Messenger office will be closed. Staff members will work on the paper since its print deadline is on Tuesday.

Copy and advertisements are due by noon on Saturday.

Summerland Public School will not be in session on Monday. Classes will resume at the regular time, Tuesday, Sept. 3.
