On Aug. 21 and 22, a dynamic educational initiative called "Ignite the Patient Experience" was held at Antelope Memorial Hospital for its executive/senior management team. The initiative provided a comprehensive organizational and cultural assessment, leadership training and a three-year blueprint to achieve a breakthrough to a five-star patient experience rating.
A grant from the Department of Health and Human Services was used to cover the cost of the training. The initiative follows recognition Antelope Memorial Hospital received in April 2024 as one of the Top 20 critical access hospitals in America (out of 1,353).
In addition, AMH was the only critical access hospital among the Top 20 to achieve a "double win" by also qualifying in the Best Practices in Patient Satisfaction category.
"The ITPE leadership course provided dynamic inspirational leadership training as a launching pad for taking our current level of health care excellence and patient satisfaction – to a higher level," said Diane Brugger, AMH chief executive officer. "Quality care begins with the leadership of our board members, providers and department heads as their perspectives and efforts extend, directly or indirectly, to every AMH employee and patient served. Our intent is for our leadership and staff to embrace a sustainable healing culture at Antelope Memorial Hospital and to take everything that we are about in 'service to others' – to higher platforms. It is truly an honor to work with such exceptional leadership and staff members here at Antelope Memorial Hospital."
