Titan seniors record triple play

SUBMITTED ARTICLE

In a July 3 battle, the second game of the day, the Tri-County seniors were in action against Ord. The senior Titans lost this action-packed game by a score of 4-0.

"The Titans played solid defense behind good pitching," coach Jeff Shabram said.

Isaac Hoferer pitched three innings, allowing three runs on six hits, three walks, and one HBP, while striking out two batters. Jake Schroeder spent two innings on the mound. He allowed one run on one hit, two BB, and one batter hit by pitch with one strikeout.

Shabram said, "This game seemed to have a highlight-reel defensive play each inning, but the most exciting play of all occurred in the fourth inning, with Schroeder pitching and we witnessed Connor Thomson, Wyatt Shabram and Riley Saul turn a 4-6-3 triple play. It brought both teams' crowd to their feet!"

Even in defeat, the Titans played inspired baseball against a solid Ord team.

"We just couldn't plate any of our baserunners," Shabram said.
