The Titan juniors lost to Ord by a score of 2-11, when they met in the first round of the Elkhorn Valley Tournament in Creighton.
Max Bruce was the starting pitcher, throwing three-plus innings, allowing nine runs on six hits and five walks, while striking out three batters.
Jacob Pierzina came in relief to throw one inning, allowing two runs on one hit and three walks, with three strikeouts.
Ord got on the board first with two runs in the first inning. Tri-County answered in the third inning on a Ryan Rifer RBI hit, scoring Pierzina. But Ord would answer with a three-run third inning followed by a big six-run fourth inning. Tri-County did get one more run on the board when Rifer crossed the plate off a Landon Nelson RBI.

The second game was “a pitching gem” with Rifer on the mound for Tri-County juniors and Calvin Wilmes pitching for Creighton/Bloomfield juniors.
“The difference in the game came when C/B was able to score two runs on passed balls, one in the second inning and one in the sixth,” said coach Jeff Shabram.
The junior Titans battled hard every inning and had multiple chances to score with runners in scoring position, but ultimately fell to C/Boomfield by a score of 2-0.
Rifer pitched the entire game for Tri-County allowing two runs on four hits, one BB, and three HBP while striking out an amazing 13 batters. Wilmes was just as spectaculr going the distance on the mound for C/B.
