Annual celebration set for Royal community

Visitors to Royal's community celebration, scheduled for July 19 and 20, will find a slate of activities for all ages.

On Friday, July 19, bring a partner and join the euchre tournament at the Royal Bar & Grill, 3020 E. Hwy 20. Cards fly at 7:30 p.m. Entry fee is $10 per person, with first, second and third prizes.

Saturday events begin at 10:30 a.m., with registration for the tractor ride, at Royal Bar & Grill.

Tractors are set to leave at noon.

A light lunch will be provided for $10.

Royal Roping Club will hold team roping, with youth competition set to begin at noon. Adult competition will start at 1:30 p.m.

Throughout the day, root beer floats and Amish baked goods will be available at the Royal Auditorium.

Stop by and check out the raffle items, including a hand made queen-sized quilt, donated by Diane Colson, and a Ruger American Predator 6.5 Creedmore with 4-12x44 vortex scope, donated by Northeast Nebraska Heating and Cooling of Royal.

Tickets are $5 each or $20 for five tickets. The drawing will be held during the barbecue. Winner need not be present.

A pulled pork supper will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at the auditorium. A freewill donation will be accepted.

Listen to live music by Kimberly at the auditorium during the roping event.

Organizers said proceeds from events will go toward Royal Economic Development Corporation projects.
