Clearwater townhall meeting will provide DTR details

Now that survey results from Clearwater's downtown revitalization study have been shared with village officials, the next step will include how to turn those dreams into a viable plan.

Village engineer John Zwingman, with Advanced Consulting

Engineering Services, will share cost estimates and provide an explanation of the project during a July 15 townhall meeting, at 6 p.m., at the fire hall meeting room.

Paving, parking, storm sewers and water and sewer upgrades along Main Street were identified as potential projects, while north of Highway 275, to Reno Street, could include paving construction, parking and installation of an eight-inch PVC water main.

Funding possibilities under consideration include the addition of a one-half of one cent increase in the village's LB840 funding program.

It could be a win-win option, according to Lauren Sheridan-Simonsen, Clearwater economic development director.

Out-of-town visitors who shop at Clearwater businesses would be contributing to the project via sales tax program.

During the townhall meeting residents will have an opportunity to view a streetscape plan with proposed public improvements.
