Funeral services for Louis Thiele, 91, of Clearwater, were Friday, June 28, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Clearwater. Burial was in St. Theresa's Catholic Cemetery with military rites conducted by Clearwater American Legion Post #267.

Louis died on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Arbor Care in Neligh.

Louis Thiele was born on Sept. 20, 1932, in Clearwater, to John F. and Josephine (Keber) Thiele. He attended District #7 school through the eighth grade and graduated with the Class of 1949 from Clearwater High School. Louis was drafted into the United States Army from 1953 - 1955. He served for a time at Regensburg, Germany, with the Army 485th Engineers.
On June 14, 1958, he was united in marriage to Jeanette Moser at Saint Bonaventure Catholic Church at Raeville. They lived on the farm north of Clearwater where Louis farmed all his life. To this marriage seven children were born: Joe, Dean, Dan, Ted, Pete, James and Mary. He was a member of Clearwater American Legion and St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Clearwater.
Louis is survived by his children: Joe (Carol) Thiele of Clearwater; Dean Thiele of Clearwater; Dan (Kris) Thiele of Buffalo, Wyoming; Ted (Colleen) Thiele of Atkinson; Pete (Joan) Thiele of Oakland; James (Leenda) Thiele of Clearwater; Mary (Arnold) Talero of Martell; 22 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Caroline Kallhoff of LaVista.
He is preceded in death by wife, Jeanette; his parents; four brothers and six sisters and their spouses.
