Page gears up for community celebration

r Saturday, July 13 with a full slate of activities. Festivities will begin at 9 a.m. with the Frederick Cronk Memorial Trap Shoot.

At 11 a.m., wander over to the volleyball court for the kid's sand dig. Or head to the Page Fire Hall for grilled burgers and hotdogs. They will be served until 1 p.m.

While at the fire hall, check out the craft and vendor fair which will run from noon until 3 p.m. More information is available by calling Kathy at 402-338-5966.

Noon will also bring the pingpong ball drop. The location will be announced that day. From noon until 1 p.m., Eric Caauwe will be doing free kids' bike tune-ups.

At 1 p.m., the kid's bike parade will begin, followed by the bike giveaway and then the regular parade. Six bikes will be given away.

"Entry is free for the drawing, thanks to our generous sponsors," organizers said.

Those interested in participating in the regular parade should call Heath Wilson at 402-336-7265. Also at 1 p.m., a free watermelon feed will begin at Lamason Park.

From 2-4 p.m., will be the paintball tournament. Registration begins at 1 p.m. Teams will consist of three players with an entry fee of $100 per team. Payback will include 75% of the entry fee and sponsorships, with 25% going to the Page Fire Department. Paintballs will be available for sale and equipment will be available to rent. From 2-4 p.m., the public is invited to dunk a local celebrity at the dunk tank. Three chances can be purchased for $5. Also, from 2-6 p.m., a kids' bounce house will be available.

Win a cake at the cake walk, beginning at 3 p.m. and continuing until all the goodies are gone. If you would like to donate something for the cake walk, contact Sarah Wilson or bring items to the Page Fire Hall prior to 3 p.m.

Start looking now to find your turtle for the turtle races to be held at 4 p.m.

A pork barbecue meal including smoked pork sandwiches, potato salad, baked beans and chips will be served for a freewill donation, with proceeds going to the Community Day fund. This is sponsored by the Isom family from 5 to 7 p.m. Beginning at 5 p.m., the Boy Scouts will be cooking Dutch oven cobblers.

A 3P Tournament will be held at the KC Bar & Grill. The tournament includes finishing a pizza, two pitchers and a puzzle. Only 12 teams of four people will be allowed with a $100 entry fee per team, includes free entry into the dance. Contestants must be age 21 or older. KBRX Cruise Night is planned from 7 to 9 p.m.

Festivities will conclude with a street dance from 8 p.m. to midnight, featuring Neon Lights. There is a $5 cover charge.

The KC Bar & Grill will be open all day with a limited menu.
