SPECIAL proceedings Village of Clearwater BOARD OF TRUSTEES
The Board of Trustees of the Village of Clearwater met for a public hearing and special meeting Monday, June 17, 2024, at 7 p.m., in the fire hall meeting room. Meeting opened at 7 p.m. Notice of hearing and meeting were given in advance by publication in Summerland Advocate-Messenger, was posted at US Post Office in Clearwater, Clearwater Market and Cornerstone Bank-Clearwater and was given to board members prior to meeting. Public was informed of location of Open Meeting Act poster.
Present: Kelly Kerkman, Marsha Hart, Cody Kester, Jeff Schlecht, Brian King. Others present: Angie Hupp.
Approved minutes of June 10 regular meeting.
Opened public hearing at 7:02 p.m. for conditional use permit application of Rustin and Angie Fletcher to use 204 Second St. as a daycare center. No public was in attendance so no comment was heard.
Approved closing hearing at 7:03 p.m.
Planning commission held a public hearing Monday, June 17, 2024, at 9 a.m. at the fire hall and recommended approval of conditional use permit for Rustin and Angie Fletcher to use 204 Second St. as a daycare center for duration of their ownership. King stated he was approached by a resident opposed to the daycare being located there but they did not attend the hearings, meeting or provide written protest. Board approved conditional use permit based on planning commission recommendation.
Approved building permit of Rustin and Angie Fletcher to build new 32’x40’ daycare building at 204 Second St. Question was asked whether Clearwater had any rules for building demolition, including asbestos inspections. Hupp told the board that there are no rules or regulations for building removal as far as she’s seen.
Kester told the board he looked at the proposed drainage area requested by Don Zegers and said there is a natural waterway that might be easy to deepen for more flow.
Approved closing special meeting at 7:12 p.m.
