Summerland board of education members approved two resignations during the June 10 meeting.
Alyssa Beed, a paraprofessional, resigned since she is moving out of the area.
Superintendent Kyle Finke said, "At this time, we'll kind of wait to see where we're going. I don't know if we necessarily need to replace her."
Finke said that decision could be made closer to the beginning of the school year.
Kathy Strope informed Finke she was not interested in returning to work in the kitchen, but she would consider work in another department.
Finke said he spoke with Strope on June 10 and noted no positions are currently open in other departments.
"She said she would like to resign. I told her if there is an opening in the future, we will consider her and she can apply."
Both resignations were approved unanimously.
In other business, the board:
• Voted to maintain current meal prices for students and adults.
"I look at this as a way to continue to keep costs down for students. Our school nutrition fund is in a good place," Finke said.
• Reviewed and approved 20 policy updates, waiving a second reading. Finke said the revisions will be uploaded to the school's website.
• Declared multiple items as obsolete, including math textbooks, physical education equipment and coding club items.
