Local residents honored with Quilts of Valor

Three veterans were recognized for their service during recent presentations in Clearwater and Ewing.

On May 18, in Clearwater, brothers Ed Muff, of rural Clearwater, and Wayne Muff, of Fremont, each received a Quilt of Valor.

On Memorial Day, Ewing resident Alan Potter received a quilt. The presentation was made during the Memorial Day program.

Veterans heard the story of Blue Star military mom, Catherine Roberts, whose dream of a solider facing difficult times resulted in the same solider being blanketed in a quilt.

As of May 2023, more than 350,000 Quilts of Valor® have been awarded to active servicemen and veterans across the country.

Each quilt contains a label that tells the story of the quilt. The words "Quilt of Valor," the quilt maker's name, state and a space to include the veteran's name are included, along with the date of presentation.
