The regular monthly meeting of the Village Board of Page was held Monday, May 13, 2024, at the village office. This meeting was conducted in compliance with the Nebraska Open Meetings Act and the Open Meeting Laws are posted at the village office.
Chair Linquist called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Trustees VanEvery, Tyrrell and Campbell present. Also present: Sally Cronk, Bill Fox, Patricia Kennedy, Larry and Sandy Peed, Cindy Ickes, David and Robin Smith, and Cora Calkins. Absent: Leichleiter.
Motion by Tyrrell, second by Campbell, to approve minutes of the April 8, 2024, regular meeting as presented. Passed: all ayes.
Trustee Leichleiter entered at 7:02 p.m.
Motion by VanEvery, second by Tyrrell, to pay claims presented. Tyrrell and Campbell – aye; Linquist, Leichleiter and VanEvery abstained.
Matt Kellum entered at 7:05 p.m.

Public comment – Ickes addressed decision of board to begin billing Page Development Corporation duplex for water usage.
Actions taken:
Sewer/lagoon dumping permit – Motion by Tyrrell, second by Leichleiter, to have McNally draw up agreement.
Maintenance report – Visitors and board discussed schedule/plan for street repairs.
All visitors except Kellum exited at 8:02 p.m.
Animals at large – Motion by Campbell, second by Leichleiter, to send courtesy reminder to parties who have had verbal complaints lodged to board and clerk. Passed - all ayes.
Motion by VanEvery, second by Leichleiter, to enter executive session to discuss legal matters concerning nuisance/ordinance enforcement. Motion passed unanimously.
Kellum exited and executive session declared open at 8:40 pm.
Motion by Campbell, second by VanEvery, to exit executive session at 8:56 p.m. Passed - all ayes. Open meeting resumed.
Office/clinic building repairs – Motion by VanEvery, second by Campbell, to accept CSC bid for replacement of village office windows with fixed panes. Passed - all ayes.
2024 park cleaning and maintenance – Motion by Campbell, second by Leichleiter, to have Helzer resume park cleaning services and to replace toilets at the park. Passed - all ayes.
2024-2025 engineer and street superintendent – Motion by VanEvery, second by Leichleiter, to have clerk assemble data and options for review. Passed - all ayes.
2024 sewer jetting – Motion by Campbell, second by VanEvery, to gather quotes for options for review. Passed - all ayes.
2024 municipal accounting and finance conference – Motion by VanEvery, second by Tyrrell, to approve Calkins attendance if possible. Passed - all ayes.
Animal permit - Ickes: Motion by Campbell, second by VanEvery, to grant permit. Passed - all ayes, except Tyrrell voting nay.
Motion by Campbell, second by Tyrrell to adjourn. Passed - all ayes.
Adjourned at 9:50 p.m.
