Summerland prepares to celebrate graduation of 19 students

Summerland Public School will bid farewell to its graduating class, Saturday, May 4.

commencement exercises will begin at 3 p.m., at the school, located at 51293 857th Road, Ewing.

Summerland band, under the direction of Emily Heithoff, will play the processional.

Superintendent Kyle Finke will present the welcome and the senior welcome will be presented.

Principal Zach Rosenboom will announce senior scholarships, followed by the valedictorian's and salutatorian's addresses.

Honor graduates will be recognized by high school counselor, Kendra Shrader.

The high school choir will sing a special selection.

Finke and representatives from the board of education will distribute diplomas.

Seniors selected a white rose tipped in blue as the class flower, and Carolina blue, black and silver as class colors.

"It's been real, it's been great, we've built a future that's worth the wait," was chosen as class motto.

Class members taking part in commencement exercises include Caige Anson, Ammy Arroyo, Christian Behnk, Kelton Bruhn, Alanna Doll, Ellie Dougherty, Chase Fletcher, Bryce Hornback, Aislynn Kester, Ashley Melcher, Adyson Mlnarik, Molly Moore, Garrett Napier, Yuliana Olivan, Preslie Robertson, Kelsey Schlecht, Barrett Stearns, Jesse Thiele and Felicia Amor Zermeno.
