Silas Andrews, of Page, is the 2024 junior division champion in illustrated presentation. He received a purple ribbon at the April 21 4-H communications contest at the annex conference room in O'Neill.
Scarlett Andrews, of Page, presented a prepared speech in the Clover Kid division.
Junior division champion for prepared speech is Andrew Paxton, of Stuart. Rachel Krysl, of Chambers, received reserve champion. Both earned purple ribbons, along with Gretchen Miner, Emmet; Lars Miner, Emmet; and Beau Gotschall, Stuart.
In the intermediate division for prepared speech, Alex Paxton,
of Stuart, received a purple and was named champion.
Trevor Timmerman, of Chambers received reserve champion and a purple ribbon.
Two individuals presented radio public service announcements.
Beau Gottschall, of Stuart, won the junior division and received a purple ribbon.
Lynn Miller, of Emmet, claimed the intermediate division championship and earned a purple ribbon.
Youth must have received a purple ribbon at their county contest in prepared speech, illustrated presentation, or PSA to advance to the Nebraska 4-H Premier Communication Event on June 17-18. This two-day event will be held at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln East Campus. The event is designed to provide youth with an opportunity to:
• showcase their learning and skills in the area of communication.
• explore issues related to the communication industry.
• discover college and career opportunities.
• meet other 4-H youth from across the state.
