Bobcat boys finish fourth at North Central

Led by a handful of medal winners, Summerland boys' track team finished fourth at the North Central Invite, held April 8, in Bassett.

Alec Schindler brought home a bronze medal in the 110m hurdles, running 16.80. He picked up a second bronze medal in the 300m hurdles, running 45.39. In triple jump, Schindler reached 39' 11.75 inches, placing third.

AJ Hobbs finished eighth in the 110m hurdles. He ran 18.55. In triple jump, Hobbs reached 36' .25 inches, ending in 10th.

Ryan Rifer placed fourth in the 800m, running 2:29.56, a season record. Rifer cleared six feet in high jump, earning a third-place medal.

Ruger Switzer jumped 5' 10 inches, finishing fourth in high jump. He placed fourth in long jump, reaching 19' 1.5 inches, a personal record.

Carter Bergman ended in fifth place in high jump, clearing 5' six inches. In triple jump, Bergman ended in sixth place, jumping 36' 7.5 inches.

Ethan Kester placed fourth in pole vault, clearing 10 feet.

Parker Napier jumped 18' 10.75 inches to finish fifth in long jump. In the 300m hurdles, Napier ran 46.92, placing ninth.

• Zander Cepel: 1600m, 5:59.11, seventh; 3200m, 13:05.22, eighth;

• Rogan Robertson: 1600m, 6:03.54, eighth;

• Melvin Mast: 110m hurdles, 19.28, 11th; 300m hurdles, 53.60, 15th, a personal record; high jump, 5' 4 inches, eighth;

• Matthew Umphress: discus, 77' 4.5 inches, 20th;

• Jason Shaver: shot put, 32' 9 inches, 12th; discus, 74 feet, 23rd;

Connor Thomson: 100m, 13.23, 18th; 200m, 28.03, 21st;

Shayne Jenkins: 100m, 13.27, 20th; 200m, 27.88, 20th;

• Beau Ahlers: 200m, 31.82, 29th; 400m, 1:08.44, 17th;

• Alec Kester, 400m, 1:09.62, 18th;

Tucker Dougherty: 800m, 3:08.93, 14th

• Kevin Verdin-Lopez: shot put, 23' 11.5 inches, 32nd; discus, 69' 7 inches, 24th;

• Luis Perez: 1600m, 7:18.84, 17th; 3200m, 15:18.65, 10th;

• Schindler, Hoke, Napier, Mast: 4x400, 3:56.26, fourth
