Public comment period extended for R-Project

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service recently announced a 30-day public comment period extension for the R-Project Transmission Line Draft Revised Habitat Conservation Plan and revised draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement. This is associated with Nebraska Public Power District's permit application for the incidental take of the American burying beetle.

The R-project starts at the Gerald Gentleman substation near Sutherland, goes north to near Thedford and extends east to a substation in southeast Holt County.

The initial public comment period began Feb, 9, with an end date of April 9. New comments must be submitted by May 9 at 11:59 p.m., Eastern time.

The service is extending the public comment period to give the public more time to review and comment on information following public meetings.
