After 45 years of service Liebers to retire from probation office

Chief Probation Officer for District 7, Kathryn Liebers, will retire effective April 30. She has served the residents of Antelope, Cuming, Knox, Madison, Pierce, Stanton and Wayne counties for more than four decades.

Liebers began work with the judicial branch as a probation officer on June 8, 1981. She was later appointed as chief deputy probation officer in 1986 before being named chief probation officer on April 1, 2007.

In her retirement letter to Probation Administrator Deb Minardi, Liebers wrote, "I completed 45 years of employment with the State of Nebraska in January 2024. Of those years, roughly 43 have been as an employee of the Nebraska judicial branch. It has been an honor and privilege to be a probation officer, deputy chief, and chief. Every day has provided new experiences, challenges, successes and, sometimes, heartbreaks. Each day has been a treasure."
