Girls claim title at Norfolk Catholic Invite

The Bobcat girls' wrestling team scored 99 points, securing the first-place trophy at Saturday's Norfolk Catholic Invitational.

Ammy Arroyo took top honors in the 190-pound division. She faced one competitior, Dezeray Baker, Ralston, and pinned her in 4:33 in round one and 2:16 in round two.

Raina Krebs struck gold in the 235-pound division. She pinned Isabella Rodriguez, Conestoga, in :55 and won a 6-0 decision over Allee Jo Inzauro, Conestoga.

Abbey Chipps placed second and Beatriz Milkem, fourth, in the 120-pound division.

Chipps pinned Cydney Vincent-Brun, Conestoga, in :32 in the opening round and pinned Milkem in :36 in round two. Chipps dropped a 6-2 decision to Micheli Fisher, Norfolk Catholic, in round three.

Milkem lost her first-round match by fall in :18 to Fisher, NC and to Chipps in the second round. Vincent-Brun pinned Milkem in round three in 2:53.

Savannah Gallagher finished second in the 130-pound class. After an opening win by fall, in 2:57, over Morgan Kuchta, Cedar Catholic, Gallagher pinned Ava Shald, St. Mary's, in 1:47. In round three, Gallagher lost by fall, in 2:33, to Conestoga's Kyler Zimmerman.

Ava Cleveland brought home a bronze medal in the 110-pound division. She dropped a first-round match to Ella Reeves, Battle Creek, by fall in 3:18 and bounced back with a win by pin, in 1:32, over Lillian Anderson, Conestoga.

In the fourth round, Sophia Shultz, Raymond Central, pinned Cleveland in 1:36, and the freshman Bobcat bounced back with a win by fall, over Ralston's Taylor Bergman. Cleveland pinned her in 3:41.

Kaylee Thiele placed third in the 135-pound division. She lost the opening round to Lilly Meffordm Battle Creek, by fall in 4:43. The Bobcat freshman bounced back to pin Hannah Bogatz, Conestoga, in 1:33. In the final round, Ashlyn Coreas, Ralston, pinned Thiele in 3:36.

In the 170-pound division, Kyah Bruhn ended third. She lost by fall in 3:41, to Paige Rumans, BC, and to Lesliegh, Ralston, in :35.

In the 125-pound division, Gracie Mudloff finished fourth. She lost by fall, in 3:20, in round one to Jordan Aschoff, Norfolk Catholic and fell to Nevaeh Klemptner, Central Valley, in :40. Mudloff pinned Emilee Olson, Randolph, in 4:26 in the final round.

Abby Arroyo finished fourth at 140 pounds.

She lost three matches by fall, to Dylen Ritchey, Ralston, in 1:21; Morgan Hensch, Conestoga, in 1:42; and Briley Koehler, BC, in 1:25.
