Another round of winter storms are approaching the region.
The National Weather Service, in Omaha, has issued a winter weather advisory, in effect from noon, Thursday, Jan. 18 to 6 a.m., Friday, Jan. 19. The advisory includes Antelope, Holt, Boyd, Knox, Wheeler, Boone and Madison counties.
Snow accumulations up to two inches are possible, with heaviest snow amounts predicted for northeast Nebraska. Wind gusts up to 35 miles per hour will cause blowing snow and reduced visibility.
A wind chill advisory goes into effect Thursday, until 6 p.m.,, Friday, at which time it changes to a wind chill watch through Saturday, Jan. 20. Wind chills as low as -20 to -30 degrees are possible Thursday overnight into Friday. By Saturday, wind chills reaching 40 below zero are possible, depending on location in the area.
