Summerland's boys' basketball squad opened holiday tournament play with a solid win over West Holt and met a physical Ainsworth team, Saturday, who handed the Bobcats a loss.
In Thursday's game against the Huskies, Summerland opened with a 17-13 lead at the end of the first quarter and stretched the margin to 32-25 at the half.
Then, the Bobcat defense upped its game, holding West Holt to 13 second-half points to secure a 61-38 win.
The Bobcats shot 53% from the two-point range and made 10-15 free throws.
Sam Cheatum finished with 15 points. Carter Bergman and Preston Hoke each pitched in a dozen.
Saturday's contest against Ainsworth came down to the last few seconds, but the Bulldogs left the building with a 58-55 win.
Cheatum led the Bobcat charge, scoring 20 points. Bergman added a dozen and Schindler ended with 10 points.
Ainsworth outrebounded Summerland, 35-22.
