Commissioners accept coalition resolution

Antelope County will be part of a coalition for landfill services.

Commissioners approved acceptance of a resolution, Tuesday, following a phone call with Daryl Guthard, owner of Bud’s Sanitary Service, based in Newman Grove.

According to Guthard, the resolution is required by the state since trash from the county goes to a coalition landfill.

“It just says we’re approved members,” Guthard said.

Commissioner Keith Heithoff asked if approval will result in increased costs.

Guthard said it would not.

Commissioners reappointed two individuals to three-year terms on the county planning commission.

Matt Klabenes and Bob Krutz were unanimously approved to serve again.

Commissioners also approve the appointment of Tom Krause, who will start a three-year term.

Veterans Service Officer Tom Nelson sought approval of five individuals to serve on the Veterans Service Committee. Commissioners gave approval for Vince Sauser, Mark Tharnish, Randall Robertson, Edward Auger and Don Carter to serve.

In other business, commissioners:

• Reappointed Dean Smith to the North Central District Health District board for a three-year term.

• Approved appointment of Duane Esau to the Northeast Nebraska Area Agency on Aging.

• Okayed the purchase of a snow pusher, from Kayton International, for the Bobcat used at the courthouse.
