United States Armed Forces' veterans were recognized, Friday, during a Veterans Day program, at Summerland Public School.
The patriotic program included Brogan Billings and Dawson McLain leading the audience in saying the Pledge of Allegiance.
Junior Jaycee Reynolds welcomed all veterans in attendance.
"To quote Elmer Davis, 'This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.' We thank you for your service," Reynolds said.
Students enrolled in Dan Roeber's government class examined war changes throughout the years, from Revolutionary times to current conflicts.
Under the direction of Emily Heithoff, music students played "Battle Hymn of the Republic" and choir members performed "My America."
Heithoff played "Taps" before John Shaver and Heath Snodgrass, members of the Orchard American Legion, retired the colors.
Veterans were lunch guests of the school and members of the junior class served the meal.
