Car totaled in Holt County accident

Holt County Sheriff’s department responded to a two-vehicle accident, Sunday, Oct. 8, about 2.25 miles east of O’Neill on Hwy 20/275.

Deputy Steven Binkerd reported a 2009 Ford Crown Victoria, driven by Michael Klabenes, 37, of O’Neill, slowed to turn into a driveway as he traveled east.

Klabenes stopped to let a westbound vehicle pass before turning, when a 2012 Chevy Silverado, driven by Dylan Olson, 29, of Wisner, was unable to stop when his vehicle’s brakes failed.

Neither occupant was wearing seatbelts, according to Binkerd.

The Klabenes vehicle was totaled in the collision and Olson’s vehicle received an estimated $5,000 in damage.
