Risinger receives hunter safety instructor honor

Duane Risinger of Orchard was presented with the Heritage Instructor Award by hunter safety coordinator Hunter Nikolai at a recent class held at the Orchard Community Center.

The Heritage Instructor Award is the highest honor given by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, recognizing hunter safety instructors for their service and dedication to the program.

Risinger has faithfully taught hunter safety classes for more than 35 years. In addition, he has volunteered his services for many organizations in Orchard, including the orchard fire department.

Because of Risinger's dedication to the community and his passion for the hunter education program, he was presented the award.

Risinger was one of the instructors at a hunter safety class held recently at the Orchard Community Center.

In Nebraska, hunters ages 12 through 29 must have proof on their person of the completion of firearm hunter safety class if they plan to hunt any game with a firearm or air gun and must also have proof of completion of Bowhunter Safety Class if they plan to hunt any game with a bow or crossbow.
