Funeral services for Richard Meyer, 69, of Orchard, were held Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 10:30 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Orchard. Pastor Janene Reynolds officiated. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery in Orchard.
Brockhaus Funeral Home in Creighton was in charge of arrangements.
Richard died Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, at CHI St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, Nebraska.

Richard Duane Meyer, son of Robert and Laurel (Jones) Meyer was born July 21, 1954, in Orchard. He graduated from Orchard High School in 1973. Richard was married to Eva McKay on May 28, 2006, at the United Methodist Church in Neligh. Together, they had a blended family of five children.
In his youth, Richard was part of a band in high school and a member of the Night Owls. Later, he attended aviation school to become a pilot, specifically for helicopters and planes. Richard owned the Corner Bar in Orchard for many years until he decided to join his brothers on the family farm. His hobbies included spending time with his grandchildren, watching aviation videos and eating ice cream. Richard resided in Orchard for the majority of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Eva; children, Ritchie (Coni) Meyer of Page, Bobbi (Justin) Brandt of O'Neill, Jake (Sarah) Klabenes of Hastings, Adam (Paige) Klabenes of Wayne, and Marissa (Lucas) Nelson of Orchard; sister, Judy Olson of Orchard; father, Robert Meyer of Orchard; along with 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Laurel; and brothers, Michael, William and Frank.
