Ewing trustees to review tax increase during hearing

Ewing village trustees will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 11, on the village’s $2.87 million fiscal year 2023-2024 proposed budget and tax request asking.

A 4% property tax request will be under consideraton, as village officials request $67,614.05 in personal and real property tax funds.

Valuation in the village is up 4%, at $15,025,345, as compared to $14,470,753 in 2022.

The proposed tax rate will increase to .045000 for the upcoming fiscal year. In 2022, the tax rate was set at .449997.

According to the proposed budget, the village will have $80,034.05 in unused budget authority for next year.
