Antelope County felony cases move to district court

e Antelope County courtroom last week on a fourth-offense driving under the influence of alcohol charge.

Kaitlyn C. Dozler, 33, waived her right to a preliminary hearing on the Class 2A felony. She was bound over to the Antelope County district court by the Honorable Donna Taylor, where she is set for arraignment Aug. 30. Dozler was remanded back to the custody of Antelope County sheriff Bob Moore, pending posting of bond in the amount of $50,000, 10% cash. Dozler is represented by Antelope County public defender Pat Carney.

According to a probable-cause affidavit, filed by Neligh police chief Logan Lawson, he was dispatched to assist at the site of a July 22 head-on collision on a curve east of Neligh on 525 Road. Dozler was allegedly determined to be the driver of one vehicle. A preliminary breath test showed an alcohol content of .228 and a breath test at the time of her booking at the county jail read .177.

A South Dakota man also had his felony case bound over to district court.

Jay L. Herrera, 22, of Vermillion also waived his right to preliminary hearing and was bound over by Taylor. He is set for arraignment in the district court Aug. 30 on a Class 3A felony, terroristic threats alleged June 7 in Neligh. Bond posted June 26, in the amount of $10,000, 10%, is continued.

Carney was initially appointed as counsel but was allowed to withdraw due to a conflict of interest. Martin Klein of Neligh was then appointed.

According to an affidavit filed by Lawson, Herrera, who allegedly had an ongoing dispute with a Neligh family, approached the boyfriend of a member of the family at his workplace and, allegedly threatened to kick in doors of the family’s home and beat family members.
