Summerland communities will honor the men and women who gave their lives while serving the country, Monday, May 29, during Memorial Day services.
Clearwater American Legion Post 267 will gather at Clearwater Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Daniel Feusse will give the address. Music will be provided by Curtis Bolling.
The traditional Elkhorn River Bridge ceremony will not take place this year, due to road construction on 516 Avenue.
In case of inclemet weather, the event will be held at the Clearwater American Legion.
Ewing Sanders American Legion Post 214 will present its annual program at St. Dominic's Hall at 9:30 a.m.
The Summerland band will provide music. Marty Larson will be the guest speaker.
Post members will gather at the Elkhorn River bridge at approximately 10 a.m. and progress to St. Peter's Cemetery at 10:15 and Ewing Public Cemetery at 10:30.
Orchard American Legion Post 136 will meet in the Orchard Cemetery at 10 a.m. and present a program at the Royal Cemetery at 10:30 a.m.
Page's Memorial Day service will be held at the Page Cemetery at 10:30 a.m.
