Schindler, Thomson score at Dan Lennon Invite

The Bobcat boys' track team began its season, March 28, at the Dan Lennon Track Invitational at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion.

Sophomore Alec Schindler earned silver in triple jump. He landed at 38' 7.75.

Trevor Thomson finished eighth in the 100m race, crossing the tape in 7.36.

Two additional Bobcats competed in the 100m race. Jaykwon Petite finished 41st, running 7.78, while Kendrick Schroeder ended in 44th place, with a time of 7.79.

Ruger Switzer had a successful day in jumping events. He reached 18' 8 to finish eighth in long jump. In high jump, he cleared 5' 7 and placed ninth.

Sam Cheatum finished 13th in pole vault, clearing 9 feet. In the 400m, Cheatum placed 51st running 1:01.99.

Connor Thomson also competed in the 400m, running 1:04.70 and placing 71st. Colby Hupp finished 94th in the race, running 1:11.88.

Ryan Rifer competed in the 800m. He ran 2:40.23 and placed 50th.

Two Bobcats ran in the 1600m race. AJ Hobbs finished 23rd, running 5:34.54 and Caden Mendoza placed 61st, with a time of 6:34.99.

Michael Koenig competed in two events. In the 60m hurdles, he finished 18th, running 9.74. He jumped 17' 8 in long jump, ending in 23rd.

Schindler also competed in the 50m hurdles, finishing 19th, running 9.76.

Two teams ran in the 4x400. Carter Bergman, Koenig, Preston Hoke and Schindler finished 19th, running 4:05.65. The "B" team, comprised of Cheatum, Parker Napier, Shayne Jenkins and Hobbs, finished 20th, running 4:06.60.

The 4x200 team ended 36th, running 1:51.06. Team members include Jenkins, Connor Thomson, Rifer and Ethan Kester.

Bergman placed 18th in high jump. He cleared 5' 3".

Napier finished 12th in pole vault, clearing 9' 6 and in long jump, he placed 22nd, reaching 17' 9.

Kester placed 15th in pole vault. He crossed the bar at 8’ 6.

Hoke finished 10th in triple jump. He landed at 36’ 1.25.

Gavin Whiting ended in seventh place in shot put with a throw of 43’ .5.

Joe Ahlers tossed the shot put 38’ 2.75, placing 24th.

Levi Cronk finished 27th in shot put with a throw of 38’ .25.
