The Honorable Mark Kozisec signed a bench warrant Feb. 3 for the arrest of a 31-year-old Stuart man, who failed to appear in the Holt County district courtroom in O’Neill. The warrant includes an order for a $10,000 cash bond.
Joshua A. Boettcher was set for sentencing Jan. 30 in three cases, including an initial sentencing on six counts committed May 7, 2022, possession of methamphetamine, a Class 4 felony; operating motor vehicle during revocation, subsequent offense; no proof of financial responsibility and no valid registration, all misdemeanors; and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, both infractions. He was also to be sentenced for violating post-release supervision following his imprisonment for crimes committed in July 2019 and October 2020.
Neil M. Lopez, 40, of Chambers was sentenced to a 12-month term of probation by Kozisec on Jan. 30, for attempted possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, a Class 2 felony committed Jan. 14, 2022. Terms of probation include 30 days in the Holt County Jail (23 days if loses no good time), payment of $330 in probation fees and $247 costs of prosecution. Lopez was represented by Bergan Schumacher of Kearney.
