Quilt group supplies blankets for CASA

Members of the Prairie Rose Quilt Club of Lynch - Loree Boelter, Sue Barnes, Cindy Nolan, Loris Holz, Karen Crooks and Brenda Cassidy - recently donated handmade quilts, which will be given to infants, children and youth that Court Appointed Special Advocates of NorthCentral Nebraska serves. The club started approximately four years ago, in response to author, Sandra Dallas's book, "Westering Women." To date, their community-based projects have included sewing for local nursing homes, creating Quilts of Valor, and designing book bags for regional libraries. This year marks the 41st anniversary of the National CASA/GAL Association for Children. CASA of NorthCentral Nebraska's regional office is located in O'Neill at 115 North 5th Street. For more information about CASA, to make a donation or to submit an application to become a volunteer, contact John Robert Smith, executive director at [email protected] or at 402-340-3185.
