The case of a Clearwater teenager, who is accused of making terroristic threats last fall regarding a Summerland Public School bus, was arraigned in the Antelope County district court last week by the Honorable James Kube.
Koda K. Fernau, 18, of Clearwater faced Kube on Jan. 25, alongside his court-appointed attorney, Ryan Stover of Norfolk. He entered a not guilty plea to a count of making terroristic threats and requested jury trial. If convicted of the Class 3A felony, Fernau faces a maximum sentence of three years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine. There is no minimum sentence.
Kube set pretrial hearing for Feb. 22, with a jury trial April 17. Fernau’s $25,000, 10% cash, bond, posted Jan. 20, is continued.
Fernau’s charges stem from actions allegedly committed in September. Allegedly, while riding on a Summerland bus Sept. 2, he commented about purchasing a firearm and, while at work in Neligh on Sept. 9, he allegedly threatened to “shoot up” a Summerland bus.
