Rosenboom selected for Summerland School principal position

An Oakland native will fill the junior/senior high principal's position next fall.

Zach Rosenboom will make the move to Summerland after serving as the social studies teacher at Tekamah-Herman Public School since 2014. For the past three years, Rosenboom served as activities director for the Tigers.

He started his teaching career at Dorchester Public School and spent two years there.

He has coached at the junior and senior high school levels and served asn an AAU coach.

Rosenboom told the Advocate-Messenger applying for the Summerland position would allow him to take the next step career-wise.

"As I began to research and ask people about Summerland, it became clear that this was a great school district with fantastic staff, students and the communities that I would like my family and me to be a part of," he said.

Rosenboom graduated from Oakland-Craig High School and earned both bachelor's and master's degrees from Midland University.

While at Midland, Rosenboom started as a forward on the Warriors basketball team. He played in 30 or more games each season.

As an educator, Rosenboom has coached various levels of football, basketball and track and field, according to Summerland Superintendent Kyle Finke.

Rosenboom and his wife, Tori, have been married six years. The couple has two children: Morgan, 4 and Collin, 1.

Tori currently works at Nebraska Medicine, in Omaha, as a radiologic tecnologist. She is a native of Callaway.

Rosenboom said, "I'm looking forward to fostering new relationships with staff, students and community members and doing my part in continuing Summerland's thriving academic and activities programs.
