Vacancies on township boards were discussed during the Holt County Supervisors Nov. 30 meeting.
Since three people failed to file for township office in Antelope, Belle, Dustin, Holt Creek, Josie, saratoga, Scott, Shamrock and Willowdale townships, supervisors appointed residents to fill the positions.
Antelope Township will be represented by Neil Liewer, James Crumly and Kristopher Matschullat; Belle Township, Pat Gentele and David Engelhaupt; Dustin Township, Dustin Lofquist, Kimberly Lofquist and Daisha Roberts; Holt Creek Township, Scott Boettcher, Ken Barnes and Jim Vrooman; Josie Township, Paul Moses, Clifford Taylor and Ray Taylor; Saratoga Township, Andrew Armitage; Scott Township, Brent Alder, Scott Sedivy and Delight Becker; Shamrock Township, Gary Strong and Ben Blackmore and Willowdale Township, Daniel Eaton, Monica Eaton and Zane Young.
In some instances, individuals appointed have previously served.
Surety bonds were approved for elected county officials, in addition to township treasurers in Steel Creek, Josie, Willowdale, Sheridan and Saratoga townships.
In other business, supervisors:
• Reviewed quotes for IT services with Applied Connective Technologies;
• Listened to a presentation by Jack Reiman, of Midwest Mapping, LLC, about potential drone flight and mapping for the county;
• Received a quote from Murphy Tractor and Equipment for a new wheel loader;
• Approved the sale of surplus equipment with Pavel Auction Services through Auction Time online auction; and
• Designated the “Atkinson Graphic” as the legal newspaper.
