PROCEEDINGS OF SPECIAL MEETING
VILLAGE OF Ewing BOARD OF TRUSTEES
The Ewing Village Board of Trustees met in a special session, Dec. 1, 2022, at 9 a.m., in open and public session at the village hall, located at 209 E. Nebraska Street, in the village of Ewing, Nebraska, the regular meeting place of the board of trustees. The purpose of the meeting was to pass Ordinance #440, to set additional sales tax of 1%.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman James Ramold at 9 a.m.
Notice was given as to the posted location of the open meetings law.
Board members present were Bill Graber, Dustin Wright, Kane Fry and James Ramold. Absent was Dustin Jorgensen. Also present was Sharon Swails and LuAnn Schindler of the “Summerland Advocate-Messenger.”
Ordinance #440 imposing a 1% sales tax on all taxable sales within the village was introduced by the chairman. Motion by Fry, seconded by Graber, that the statutory rule requiring an ordinance to be fully and distinctly read on three different days be suspended. Voting aye: Graber, Wright, Fry, Ramold. Nay: none. Abstain: none. Absent: Jorgensen.
Ordinance #440 read by title:
An ordinance of the village of Ewing, Nebraska, imposing an additional 1% sales tax on all taxable sales within the village; providing a date when such tax is to be imposed; providing an effective date; and repealing all conflicting ordinances.
Motion by Wright, seconded by Fry, for final approval and passage of ordinance #440. Voting aye: Graber, Wright, Fry, Ramold. Nay: none. Abstain: none. Absent: Jorgensen.
