Eight Bobcat football team members received end-of-year honors from the Class D1-6 district.
In addition to Summerland, Elkhorn Valley, Lutheran High Northeast, Neligh-Oakdale, North Central and Plainview comprised the district. The Bobcats finished second in district action, beating four of the five opponents.
Five players were named to the first team, including seniors Trevor Thomson, Joe Ahlers and Kendrick Schroeder, and sophomores Alec Schindler and Keaton Thiele.
Thomson led the Bobcat's rushing charge, averaging 140 yards per game and averaged 25.4 yards per game in the receiving ranks. He scored 23 touchdowns this season.
Schindler led receivers, averaging 53.2 yards per game and scored 10 touchdowns. Schindler ranked first in tackles, averaging 10.4 per game.
Ahlers finished the season with 72 tackles, including 19 solo takedowns, while Thiele ended with 90 tackles, including 23 solo attacks.
Schroeder rushed for 765 yards and caught 32 passes. Defensively, he finished the season with 53 tackles.
Three seniors earned honorable mention. Jaykwon Petite, Kellen Mlnarik and Levi Cronk were tabbed by district coaches.
Petite complet4ed 54 of 94 passes, averaging 14.7 yards per toss and rushed 102 times for 387 yards. He finished with 14 tackles.
Mlnarik ended his senior campaign with 18 takcles, including two for a loss.
Cronk recorded 68 total tackles, including 21 solo attempts and three tackles for loss. In addition to 2.5 sacks, Cronk recovered a fumble.
Neligh-Oakdale claimed the district title and made its way to the Class D1 championship, played Monday, at Memorial Field in Lincoln. The Warriors lost to Clarkson/Leigh, 48-20.
Earning all-district honors for the Warriors were Aiden Kuester, Bryson Gadeken, Landyn Schrader, Levi Drueke, Carson Whitesel and Chase Furstenau.
Jacob Henery, Chase Thomas and Colson Krebs received honorable mention.
Plainview's Tanner Frahm, Spencer Hille, Brendan Weber and Xander Albin were named to the all-district team.
Karter Lingenfelter, Hayven Stewart and Kayson Maertins were named to the honorable mention list.
Elkhorn Valley landed six players on the list, including Mavrick Hagemann, Carter Werner and Kellyn Ollendick, who earned all-district awards.
Layton Meyer, Nate Decker and Korbin Werner received honorable mention.
Five Lutheran High Northeast players received post-season honors, including all-district selections Josh Rojas and Braden Feddern.
Evan Glaser, Jazee Ames and Carson Anderson earned honorable mention.
North Central's Jackson Hallock and Dylan Benemerito were named to the all-district team.
Beau Wiebelhaus, Tate Miller and Gavin Prewitt were named to the honorable mention list.
