What you need to know to vote in the midterm election

Polls open at 8 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8, for voters to cast ballots in the 2022 General Election. Summerland-area precincts include the American Legion, Clearwater precinct; city hall, Ewing precinct; fire hall, Orchard precinct; fire hall, Page precinct and Royal Auditorium, Royal precinct.

Races on the midterm ballot include local and state offices.

On the state level, area voters will select a representative for the third district, governor and lieutenant governor, secretary of state, treasurer, attorney general, auditor and public service commissioner.

Countywide races include county attorney, clerk, commissioners in districts one, three and five, sheriff, treasurer and assessor.

Local races include district 40 legislator, school board, city races, judges' retention, Northeast Community College Board of Governors, Educational Service Unit 8 board, Antelope County Weed Control Authoritiy and Antelope County Airport Authority.

The last day for early voting, in person, at the county clerk's office is Nov. 7.

Individuals who have moved within the county will be able to update addresses at the polling location. Residents who have moved to a new county and/or congressional district will be required to update the address with the new county clerk prior to Election Day. New Nebraska residents will need to register to vote.

Results will be posted on SAM social media channels and website as they come in.
